The Story behind "The Story"

How we got here

The story behind the story

We understand the challenges that organisations face because we have experienced change first-hand, led teams through change, and supported teams and organisations through change.

Many organisations know they need to change but struggle to turn intentions into successful outcomes due to a range of challenges including -

  • A strategy that exists on paper but is difficult to implement
  • Digital investments that are not delivering the expected benefits
  • Processes that have evolved over time and no longer support organisational objectives
  • Change initiatives competing for attention and resources
  • A lack of clarity about where to start, what to prioritise and how to measure success.
  • Unclear roles, responsibilities and decision-making
  • Stakeholders who are disengaged, resistant or fatigued by change
  • Teams that are working hard but are not aligned around common priorities.

These challenges are rarely caused by a single issue. They are often the result of multiple interconnected factors involving people, culture, processes, governance, strategy and technology.

This is why successful transformation requires a holistic approach, and that is what Ikpehai Change Consulting Ltd delivers.

My Journey

Ikpehai Change Consulting Ltd starts following -

  • a wonderful early career in Academics and Research, which launched me into my first role in Corporate Training in London Borough of Southwark and a further 14 years in various senior roles in Local Authority
  • a key learning ground at EY - entering  into the world of consulting for the first time
  • what can only be described as the most magical phase of my career as Digital Change Lead with Historic Royal Palaces (working out of Hampton Court Palace and seeing up close the countries six non-residential palaces owned by the Monarch ‘in right of crown’)
  • and last (but by no means least),  the last eight years with SUMS Consulting - actively involved in growing the organisation and proudly working with some of the UK’s most prestigious establishments – the Universities that make up the UK’s “Higher Education sector”.

What’s next

I am now branching out on my own to do what I love best - supporting, guiding and leading people through change.

My new Company – ‘Ikpehai Change Consulting Ltd’, has been borne out of a strong desire to not just talk about the rights and wrongs of People Change, and Change Frameworks, but to actively work with, and for organisations to drive change and make things happen.

Highlights to date

Some of my most treasured and memorable assignments in consulting have been those where I built a strong, lasting relationship  through – not just reporting the problems and providing recommendations, but also where I was part of the solution. Assignments where I embedded myself into the fabric of the organisation  working closely with the Academic and Research Community, and Professional Services – together breaking down barriers and making change happen.

Who do we serve

Ikpehai Change Consulting Ltd is about working with organisations across Higher Education, the Public and Charity sectors to take them through change successfully. Whether this is at the start of a change journey, during a change programme, or working through transition after a formal programme close, my bespoke, people-centred approach helps organisations unlock doors and ensure successful change.
